Set the rule once. Let every occurrence carry it forward.

    Create the repeating chore

    Choose the room, due time, and recurrence — weekly trash, alternating-Saturday bathroom cleaning, or another custom schedule.

  2. 02

    Choose the rotation

    Select the household members who should participate and put them in the sequence your household agreed on.

  3. 03

    The next occurrence advances

    The current occurrence belongs to one person. When the schedule generates the next one, assignment moves to the next eligible person.

Not every chore should rotate.

Rotation is best for repeat work everyone can reasonably do and nobody permanently owns. ChoreKeep keeps normal and open assignment alongside it.

When a household member pauses for a trip, rotating chores skip them during the date range and pick them back up when they are home. The goal is continuity, not a punishment pile waiting on return.

The details behind fair rotation.

Is rotation only for weekly chores?
No. Rotation attaches to a repeating chore, so it can follow the recurrence you configure rather than being limited to one weekly pattern.
Can I leave someone out of a rotation?
Yes. You choose the members who participate. A household does not have to put every person into every rotating job.
What happens during a vacation?
Vacation Mode pauses an away member for a date range. Rotation skips them during that time and makes them eligible again after the pause ends.
